Do you see what I see from Vitamin C?

Hello there! I'd like to share something today. I've tried a couple of times to reply to a thread in a forum but to no avail. So before my frustration could reach its peek meter, I've decided to post it here instead.

But let's start first with a short introduction.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) is a water soluble vitamin which is essential for the body. It has many benefits. Among these are for collagen formation and for strengthening the immune system. You can search in the Internet for more benefits of Vitamin C. And you can take it authentically or synthetically.

Natural foods such as oranges, papaya, lemon, red bell peppers, tomatoes, guava, etc. belongs to what I call authentic. Those supplements taken over the counter are what I call synthetic. I firmly believe that foods that we eat naturally is the best source of Vitamin C.

Now, there was this person who was asking why is he getting more sick though he was taking Vitamin C (whether regardless it was natural or supplemental) for 2 weeks. When he stop taking it, it made him feel better.
My supposed-to-be answer to him would go like this:

I've experienced it, too. Whenever I had bad colds, my mother would always scold me why I was not taking Vitamin C supplements everyday. I would just shrug it off and always tell her that I'm getting the amount of Vitamin C needed in my diet so there's no need for me to take more. In the past, I've had this notion that taking more tablets of Vitamin C would mean that I'll be more resistant to colds especially during rainy days.

Taking 2 tablets of vitamin C morning which are 500 milligrams each and 2 for the evening worked at first but later it just made it worst. So what did I do whenever I had a cold is this:

Sleep earlier than usual. Our body needs to recuperate more. It is one effective way of boosting your immune system.
Eat guava. I don't know if it is just me or it's only psychological but I remember my mother recommending this over oranges and dalandan. I guess, more Vitamin C? In my experience, guava helps me to recover faster and I pretty much like munching it too.
Frequent handwashing. Better to do it with soap and water. No need to say more.

I've read somewhere that Vitamin C will be much more effective if taken before catching a cold. I'm still confused whether there is really an overdose of Vitamin C since what I know is that it is a water soluble vitamin. Any excess would just go out in the the urine.

A Letter to My Sister

Yesterday, my sister told me that she failed 3 subjects and wouldn't be able to graduate this April. She, who is not really a crybaby, was crying and was so angry at herself. We tried to console her but to no avail. I've learned that it is sometimes more beneficial to leave someone alone. This morning, I was inspired to write her a letter and wrote one. Unfortunately, after when I went home, I find her in a much better situation. So I guess, she doesn't need this one? Haha. Maybe I will tell her later.

To my Only "DALA" na Bunsisteree,

I may not fully know what or how you are feeling, but I know "THAT" feeling somehow because I've experienced it too in some way. No matter what you do or feel, you cannot change the fact that you can't turn back what has been already cast. I ask you to please try to widen your horizon more. Treat it as a learning experience, do not dwell on the past and live life more fully and richer by bouncing higher than ever. I've always believed that the most blessed ones are those given with the most hardships because these obstacles are not really problems but in actuality, opportunities for you to grow into someone of great value.

Have you heard of the Bulb story of Thomas Edison? I presumed you have either read or encountered that story. If my memory serves me right, Thomas Edison had failed 1000 times and even blew up his laboratory a couple of times before successfully developing the bulb. Do you remember that in his quotation, he perceived it not as a failure but as 1000 steps in developing the bulb?

I know I always annoy you when I say to always look on the brighter side. Let's face it. It is HARD to think positive when the world around you makes you feel otherwise. You know, *whisper mode* I felt that a bazillion times.

But my dear, maybe you're taking my advice superficially. I just couldn’t pinpoint how I came up to this. Maybe because I’m so much assuming? Hehe.. I may be wrong, I may be right but I think it’s because of your unconscious gestures. It is okay to rant and be angry for a while, but don’t linger on that feeling for too long. It is very unhealthy not only for the mind but also for the body.

Victory is sweet when you have achieved your goal. The sweetest is when you know the feeling of failing. Do you remember the joke that any kind of food tastes great when you’re absolutely hungry? You cannot define well courage without fear, good without bad and most probably success without failure. One failing doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Same goes for failing twice or thrice. It is through quitting which makes one a failure.

As I've said to you a couple of times, there's more to life than getting good grades and good credentials. Who knows, maybe in the future, you can be the next greatest person who can revolutionize the world? What is important now and for tomorrow is for you do your utmost best in any way you can without stepping on anybody, and enjoy what you are doing because you will experience this only once. It is the attitude that always counts and your plan for the future. Your plan should be yours, neither theirs nor someone’s. In this way, there’ll be no regrets. Do not forget to breathe deeply, relax and smell the flowers. Life has many works of art even words can’t describe.

It really makes me uncomfortable to say this but I will be always here for you. I, myself was even surprised when I had made this 500+ words letter just for you. Maybe because you are one S-P-E-C-I-A-L child. Just try to decipher what special means.. hahaha..

Remember that we love you and will always be proud of you!

Lots of Love, Hugs and Kisses (<--Yuck. Totally not me. -_-)

Planners.. Again.

Ever since I've received a planner from a great professor way back in college, I've been hooked on planners! It's not like I've not seen a planner since the last 22 years of my life but the planners I see tend to be huge (like those of a notebook) or if not, bulky. Truthfully speaking, I don't really dig that kind of planners. But then, planners from papelmeroti saves the day! For as low as 20 php, you can have one. But if you're the type that needs a huge space in a planner for a day, I think that this type of planner wouldn't suit you. I guess I like planners which are convenient to bring and in which I can have an overview of activities or reminders for the month.

I bought another kind of planner for my mom which costs 29 php from Papelmeroti.

Look here.

Strategy on how to beat Chicken Chase Level 50

I've managed to come up with a strategy plan in order to beat Level 50 of Chicken Chase. It was after a few attempts in trying to win the game of course! You know, I was able to beat it a couple of times before. But recently, just when I tried it once more, I couldn't pass the last level. And so it suddenly gave me an idea on how about making a way on how to beat the game. I've tried and tried until I came up with a solution. And here it is.

The first thing I've bought was the grey hen, the one that enables eggs to hatch after sitting on them. Gather some coins until you can purchase the pink elephant that helps you against ravens and wolves. However, even though you have the elephant, you'll still encounter ravens trying to scoop up your chickens and wolves eating them so better enhance your gun.

Hatch some eggs. I've hatched the black ones (roosters) especially the light blue ones. The more you have them and the earlier you can have them the better. Don't hatch the pink ones yet. Sell them for $ 500 early in the game. The light blue chickens are the ones that eat eggs so you can have blue gems. Blue gems sell for $ 300 each.

You can buy the mouse which helps you to collect money. When you have sufficient funds, buy a lot of egg-laying hens. Yes, I'm referring to the yellow ones. You could also buy grey hens. You could aso purchase the feed enhancing food and the amount-you-throw food.

Just when you have at least gathered around 200+ number of blue gems (the game requires you to collect 80 blue gems), start hatching the pink ones. The pink chickens will convert the blue chickens into red gems in which you have to collect at least 50 of it. Prices of red gems vary depending on the age of the chicken. When a blue chicken is due, I think you can sell it for $ 5,000 if I'm not mistaken. But if it is converted to a red gem, it sells for a whooping $ 12,000! But how will you know if the chicken is due? Simple. Notice the font is blue when you're in the selling mode.
